James Irving Taylor

James Irving Taylor (1856-1916) was the oldest son of Samuel Penfield Taylor and Muriel’s paternal grandfather.  In 1980 he married childhood friend Jean Margaret Wooster.  He worked for his father’s paper business and managed Camp Taylor. James Taylor also served in the California State Legislature and on the San Anselmo Board of Trustees. An active supporter of the arts and Bohemian Club, he built a theater in his back yard at San Anselmo.  His son, Samuel Penfield “Pen” Taylor was Muriel’s father.
