Apache Gang

The Apache Gang was what the Parisians called a group of local criminals known for their ruthless and brutal behavior. From this gang came the basis of the Apache Dance where  a man would abuse a woman by throwing her around roughly on the dance floor, similar to what a pimp would do with one of his hookers. Muriel and Bob met several members of the Apache Gang in 1925 when one of them taught Muriel the dance.

Here is  an example of the Apache Dance performed by Dorothy Appleby from the 1935 movie Charlie Chan in Paris.
