Clement Doucet

Leon Clement Doucet (1895-1950) was a famous Belgian pianist who worked at le Boeuf sur le Toit with Jean Weiner, another highly respected pianist.  The two formed a partnership and appeared in over 2,000 concerts and made over 100 recordings together, including several with Maurice Chevalier, Edith Piaf and Yvonne George.  Muriel and Bob became friends with both men in 1925  at the Boeuf where the Johnstons were performing.  When one of them was not able to perform, Muriel sometimes filled in at the piano.  To hear Clement Doucet play his compositions Chopinata and Isoldina, click here.
