Bessie Love

Born Juanita Horton, in Midland, Texas, Bessie Love (1898-1986) was an American actress who starred in silent movies at the tender age of 15, made the transition to “talkies” and continued making movies well into her 70s.  She was in over 80 movies and also appeared on Broadway.  An Academy Award nominee for best actress in 1929, Bessie first met Muriel & Bob in Paris in 1925.  Their friendship continued over the years and they also spent time together in London.   To learn more about Bessie Love, click here.

In 1929, the same year Muriel & Bob spent time with her in London, Bessie Love made a movie called Hollywood Review where she sang the song A Thing Like That.
