Alexander Pantages

Alexander Pantages (1875-1936) ran away from his home in Greece at the age of 9. He became a successful vaudeville producer and, at one time, owned the largest chain of theaters and movie houses in the Unites States.  Muriel and Bob met him in 1924 when he hired them to perform as part of the “Berkeley Four” in his Pantages Circuit, which included theaters throughout the west coast.
