George Sterling

George Sterling (1869-1926) was an American poet who became a significant figure in Bohemian literary circles around San Francisco in the early 1900s. A close friend of the Taylor family, George Sterling became enamored with Muriel around 1917 when she was only 15.  George often professed his love for Muriel (as he did many young women) and wrote two poems for her; the “Silver Girl” and “Her Welcome.”   For more information about George Sterling, click here.
