Kroonland

The Kroonland was an ocean liner built in 1902.  At the time, the Kroonland was the largest U.S. steamship ever constructed.  During World War I, it was brought into service to ferry American troops to France and was one of the first U.S. ships to be armed by the Navy.  During one of these voyages, it was struck by a torpedo from a German U-boat Fortunately,  it failed to detonate.

Bob and Muriel took the Kroonland from San Francisco to Panama on their way to Paris in 1925.
