Washington Hotel

The Washington Hotel,  in Colon, Panama, was built in the 1800s and significantly upgraded in 1913 to become, what many regarded, the finest hotel in the Latin America at the time.  Prior to the Panama Canal being built, U.S. Presidents and other notables would stay there on their way to and from San Francisco.  Bob & Muriel stayed at the Washington Hotel during their trip to France in 1925, but as the hotel was fully booked, had to sleep on cots in the ball room.
